Taiwan is one of the most vibrant societies in the world. No one who has visited it can fail to be taken by its dyclmism, contradictions, colour, excitement and, above all, vitality. But what is really behind this vibrant appearance? Examining a range of topics from the political, to the cultural and even the economic, the contributors describe and explain the many dimensions underpinning the vitality of Taiwan.
